Well 2017 flew past at record speed and everyone at Team Flux is a little dizzy from such a busy and exciting period of work. We’re proud to say we helped produce and stream some incredible content last year working with the likes Bjork and the Foo Fighters to travelling round the world with Advertising Week to help broadcast hundreds of thought provoking seminars and lectures.
Flux alumni Ed, Ross and Chris spent a fun evening in the pub recently debating their favourite one from the year.
Mercedes for me was the most exciting and enjoyable job I have been involved in.
Taking something from an initial concept to creation and tech execution that needed to be completely unobtrusive and yet the highest quality in delivery. To be the key factor in an event that was launching a revolutionary product for an incredible brand with an idea that was a world’s first was a huge challenge but an exciting challenge.
Nothing better than being set an almost impossible task, having all sort of fun testing out and finding the perfect technical solution to finally nailing the brief with our incredible team work.
It was also nice to see a car up close that I could never afford!

Metallica or Foo’s because they are by far the coolest events we’ve been involved in. It’s always a great feeling when a project is a success both for us and for the client and both of those events got such positive feedback from the public, reaching so many people and putting smiles on faces.
But from a technical aspect Advertising Week Japan for the second year was insane. Managing video production on 8 stages in another continent with the added complexity of multi language streaming was a serious challenge, against the odds we managed to execute it. That was pretty special.
I also ate raw chicken and survived so that gives me some sort of Japanese super power, right?

I really enjoyed the production we did for the Gorillaz, obviously it was an honour to work with such a respected band but in challenging circumstances getting the edits uploaded so quickly for social media was a real achievement.
For different reasons, it was also fantastic to continue to be able to work with Advertising Week. Working with such a dedicated team and filming an obscene amount of content. Taking this content, editing around the clock and coming up with new ideas for the videos to make each daily highlights piece unique is tiring, but rewarding work.
I also got to meet Dave Grohl and have some of his pizza so I can die happy now!
