Ahead of the 2026 AFCON Cup, football legends descended on Casablanca for the latest installment of the Nike TOMA series a showcase of pure flair and Africa’s footballing prowess.
Flux partnered with Livewire to bring this experience to the world, managing three simultaneous IRL streams led by icons from Nigeria, France, and England. We balanced “mobile-first” authenticity with a high-end production polish to drive massive engagement. For over three hours, our cameras were tasked with following the talent through the activation, culminating in live, pitch-side commentary for the high-stakes 4v4 tournament.
To ensure the broadcast felt authentic to the fans, we leaned into the agility of IRL streaming on mobiles, using three Samsung S25 Ultras paired with gimbals and lapel mics. These feeds were transmitted directly to our London-based MCR and fed in to three independent production galleries via the LiveU ecosystem.
This remote production setup allowed us to mix each stream live in the UK, layering in pitch-side camera angles, custom graphics, instant replays, and a dynamic scoreboard to keep the audience locked into the action.
On the ground in Casablanca, each influencer was paired with a producer acting as their show lead. Every producer was linked to their London director via a remote comms solution, ensuring constant, crystal-clear synchronisation between the Morocco and UK teams.
To add depth to the broadcast and provide the talent with essential downtime, we integrated pre-recorded VT’s showcasing the wider activation from jersey customisation stations to high-energy street football skill challenges.
Prioritizing a mobile-first solution that stayed true to the talent’s natural style paid off massively. The streams captured over 200,000 concurrent viewers across the three channels, creating a truly global “digital stadium” for the Nike TOMA event.
Nike was impressed by the intimacy of the broadcast; by stripping away the bulk of traditional gear, we brought fans right to the edge of the pitch, allowing them to feel the heat and energy of the Casablanca streets. The project proved that with a streamlined, smart infrastructure, you can deliver high-impact production from anywhere in the world.
Keepy Uppy on the moon, anyone?
