Twitch: The Boys Season 2 Watch Party


The Project

Once again, Flux Broadcast linked up with Twitch to deliver a unique watch party event to promote season two of Amazon Prime’s smash show, The Boys. The broadcast involved multiple influencers from different countries hosting a watch party for fans, once concluded a unique interacive quiz to earn prizes was hosted by the streamer which needed to be localised for the various languages.

Comic books are sacred texts here at Flux HQ, so live streaming this event to multiple EU markets simultaneously was a challenge we were more than happy to accept.

The Goal

Based on Garth Ennis’ graphic novel series, The Boys had a huge fan base even before season one launched. After gathering huge acclaim, Amazon wanted to expand the show’s appeal for season two, tasking Twitch with raising awareness outside of superhero fan circles. 

Stage one saw key influencers binge watching the first season to prepare their followers for what was to come. Stage two was a live watch party, hosted on Twitch, in which the influencers and their audience powered through season two together. We even created a custom quiz overlay at the end of the broadcast to find out who was the show’s ultimate fan.

Broadcasting across the EU, Flux used specialist producers from each territory to translate the narrative and graphic overlays, enabling each influencer to focus on doing what they do best – interacting with their viewers.

The Impact

The production was a huge success in each region with all of the influencers seeing growth in audience figures as well as positive impressions. With The Boys season two earning rave reviews right now, we can’t wait for season 3 and another chance to create a spectacular interactive experience with the Twitch team.
