The Challenge
Communicating significant business change internally needs a production you can be confident in.
Aesop needed to reach teams across different regions and time zones, with a consistent experience for people in the room and colleagues joining remotely.
The broadcasts also had to work within Aesop’s existing Microsoft Teams environment and internal security requirements, without creating a separate process for employees to follow.
With senior stakeholders presenting, the production needed to be properly tested and straightforward for both the client team and talent.
The Approach
We worked closely with Aesop’s internal communications and IT teams to plan a broadcast workflow around their existing systems.
That included helping establish the townhall links, working through the Teams and security requirements, and testing the full route ahead of each event.
Dedicated rig and rehearsal days gave us time to resolve technical issues before going live and gave presenters the chance to get comfortable with the setup.
For the broadcasts, we provided a three-camera production with dedicated lighting, live direction, graphics and VT playback. The in-room PA was integrated with Aesop’s existing AV system so the same production could serve both the room and the remote audience whilst being able to leverage Aesops existing infrastructure.
Two live broadcasts across the day allowed Aesop to reach different parts of its global team, including an early stream for colleagues in Australia and a later programme for the UK and wider audience.
The Impact
The townhalls gave Aesop a reliable way to communicate an important business update to teams across multiple regions.
By handling the production, technical planning and coordination with IT, we reduced the amount the internal communications team needed to manage themselves and allowed them to focus on the content and messaging.
The production also gave Aesop a townhall that looked and felt like Aesop. The camera choice, lighting and overall setup gave the broadcast a more considered visual treatment. For a brand like Aesop, that mattered. The townhalls felt like an extension of the brand rather than a purely functional internal stream.
