The Challenge
Working in partnership with Havas and Unit 9, Flux were asked to create content for an extra special live event celebrating the start of the 2023 Rugby World Cup and the launch of an exclusive new Land Rover in collaboration with Kano.
With 2 hours to capture a car reveal, talent arrivals, panel discussions and a live music performance, with the first edit dropping that night, the solution needed to be slick whilst also matching the quality of a brand such as Jaguar Land Rover.
And with barely enough room to swing a cat (let alone a jib) it was certainly an interesting challenge that Flux was ready to tackle.
The Approach
We knew we needed to bring a studio quality cinematic look to the content so we opted for a 5 camera ARRI live footprint, utilising a roaming MOVI alongside a mini jib fitted with a stab head to provide the dynamism. Fiber drops placed at strategic spots throughout the venue allowed us to capture content throughout, whilst also keeping the footprint nimble.
All feeds were bought back to our gallery in real-time, allowing the content team to pick their favourite selects and start building out a their edit. A line cut was also created which helped reduce the post-production turnaround.
The Impact
Working alongside multiple production partners. establishing a detailed pre-production workflow was key to success with all teams able to work seamlessly and smoothly onsite.
All this planning, meant we had the flexibility on-site to capture an incredible performance alongside a tonne of extra content as opportunities arose. We finished the day producing 12 unique pieces for use both immediately and post event and we think the results speak for themselves!
