THE PROJECT
Flux Broadcast has teamed up with Universal Music many times over the years, live streaming some of the biggest bands from top secret locations. The results are always spectacular and usually, very loud.
At the start of June 2020 they approached once more to film and broadcast another hush hush live stream, this time to its internal employees. The event would showcase a collection of the label’s most exciting new artists and music, as well as talks from the CEO of Universal and the heads of its acquired labels, Decca and Polydor.
THE GOAL
Working shortly after nationwide ‘lockdown’, we knew that safety, as well as secrecy, would be a top priority. Alongside the location team at iconic Abbey Road studios, we put together a Covid-safe site plan, which meant peace of mind for all involved – without compromising on broadcast quality
We liaised with Universal’s web development team to provide a secure media player with analytics to sit inside a vanity page on the label’s website. This page could only be accessed using an employee email address, meaning all locations and names could be recorded, thereby ensuring the top secret content wouldn’t be leaked.
THE IMPACT
Using a hybrid setup of cameras on the ground at Abbey Road and a remote MCR, we brought in multiple camera feeds, VT’s and presentations, creating a fantastic vision mix that was securely delivered to the platform.
