PAIRS OF SHOES
2024 was a summer of sport, and just as the whistle was blowing on Full Time for the season Flux was drafted in by 160 over 90 to help produce a range of content for the rapper Dave and his annual Santan Cup.
Across two days, Flux was set the challenge of capturing the Santan Cup, a yearly 5-a-side football game hosted by British rapper Dave. Over the course of the tournament Flux captured a range of deliverables from long form to short form content as well as stills and social content for various sponsors and partners.
With a mixture of talent and influencers on site a minimal camera presence was requested to keep things relaxed and friendly for the players whilst also highlighting the core sponsors of the show New Balance, Spotify and Stone Island.
Before setting foot on the pitch, Flux and 160/90 worked on a detailed shooting schedule, looking at the player’s movements across the tournament whilst diving deep in to the content and edits requested to maximise coverage.
Despite planning for everything, things can sometimes unfold different, especially with a large group of talent so a flexible solution was developed, allowing the crew to be more reactive to new asks whilst being able to pivot easily if things changed on site.
On site we had two roaming camera teams shooting on Alexa Mini’s, alongside an editor doing quick chase edits for sign off that day. Documenting every key moment of the games was critical so mini cams were setup to capture all the action from each end of the pitch with our cinematic camera crew capturing the rest.
A photographer was also present on set to capture additional content, enriching the overall coverage and showing a different energy to the day.
With over 30 unique pieces of content created on site whilst the tournament was live enabled us to have a huge impact on the overall engagement numbers. Fresh, relevant and exciting media was delivered to a hungry social audience who helped push the metrics and awareness of the tournament to new levels.
