Trophies Won
During Euro 2020, TikTok wanted a unique twist on the traditional half time show so they came to Flux Broadcast to make it happen.
The show would see some of the platform’s best talent descend on a studio to commentate on the second half action and engage live with the TikTok community as the game played out.
With personalities as big as Kae Kurd, Munya Chawawa and Luke Kempner at the helm, we needed to give them a platform to be at their charismatic best and help to pull in football fans and TikTok devotees alike.
Of course, the whole project would have to be completed remotely to comply with social distancing requirements. Oh, and we’d have to film in a vertical space…
So how did we do it?
We used a custom-built racked encoder solution to send three camera feeds from the studio to our MCR in Hackney. From here, our production team was able to vision mix, add graphics and playout VTs directly into TikTok using our low latency SRT delivery solution.
Our comms system brought the various remote teams together seamlessly, allowing producers and talent to communicate with ease despite being miles apart.
To say the concept was a success would be an understatement. Over the course of the Euros we produced 17 live shows with a combined reach of over 1 million viewers.
Our remote MCR and location based encoder helped unite 15 individual members of the crew and talent, streaming totally original content to fans around the world.
England didn’t bring it home but Flux definitely did.
