Flux Broadcast loves a challenge. That’s why when social media platform, Twitter, came to us looking for a way to shake things up at Cannes Lions Festival 2018 we got very excited indeed. The brief was to deliver an innovative, content rich and fluid production solution that would enable Twitter to present visual storytelling on a global scale through a live social stream. Every year, Twitter builds a beautiful beachfront terrace, ‘Twitter Beach’, at the creative festival to push the company-wide message; that you can #GoLive anywhere. This would be the backdrop for our broadcast.
Twitter is at the epicentre of the world’s advertising industry, and a key player in pushing innovative and creative messaging. The Cannes project aimed to engage marketers, agency execs and creatives with key messages and demonstrate how the Twitter platform enables you to #GoLive anywhere.
With this in mind, we knew that anything other than perfect wouldn’t cut it. Our smooth production solution allowed Twitter to present visual storytelling in a memorable and shareable way over a week long event that showcased the platform’s global role, scale, audience and creative opportunities to the Cannes Lions community.
We were able to connect with the global Cannes audience by influencing culture at Cannes Lions and beyond. At the top of the bill was #HereWeAre, a female empowerment talk with Kerry Washington and Leslie Berland, which had over 2 million viewers live and a further 4 million on demand in just a few days.
