The Project
Collaborations between Flux Broadcast and Tommy have been responsible for some of the most innovative broadcasts of the last few years. Think hidden cameras, vampires and real-time competitive scavenger hunts.
This time, Binance had posed the creative production studio a unique problem to solve:
How do you capture and film a live TV show in the metaverse, with participants joining from all over the world, and broadcast it to every corner of the globe?
The answer? You hire Flux Broadcast.
Promising to bring the thrill of reality shows to the metaverse for the very first time, Build The Block is a cutting edge adaptation of the Dragon’s Den format. Two teams pitch Web3 business ideas to a judging panel of crypto and Web3 experts. The team that most impresses the judges and the live virtual audience wins the backing they need to become the next big Web3 entrepreneur.
The Goal
Using our custom built MCR, we brought in 16 virtual camera feeds from the virtual platform – much like a normal TV studio. We mixed each feed live but also recorded them independently so we could make amendments in the edit if necessary.
Our small team of engineers, audio and camera operators, and producers worked seamlessly to create an amazing event for the talent and the viewers in the metaverse and around the world.
The Impact
Our solution enabled us to record all six episodes in record time, whilst also providing additional tech support to the virtual platform itself and its users. The first instalment of the series gathered almost 80k views on Binance.com alone. Flux is always first in line for any envelope-pushing project and we’re definitely becoming well versed in the metaverse…
