The Challenge
When renewable energy trailblazers, Ørsted, pledged £1m to Onside Youth Zone as part of Grimsby’s ambitious regeneration project, they brought Flux Broadcast on board to showcase the event.
The newly funded Grimsby Youth Zone will be open 7 days a week and connect with over 4000 young people in its first year of operation – a truly worthwhile development that Flux was so happy to be involved in.
The Approach
Hosting in the Ørsted warehouse, we provided full graphics, along with a 3 camera setup, a small stage and lighting. Key players in the collaboration – including the local MP, CEOs of Ørsted and Onside, as well as youngsters attending the Youth Zone – then delivered presentations and messages of thanks.
With strict Covid protocols in place, our onsite, socially distanced gallery was tucked away in another part of the warehouse to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
In advance of the event, we brought in a separate VT team to take to the streets of Grimsby and gather some powerful location shots, as well as record the reactions of the youths being surprised with a giant cheque for £1m. This footage was then used to enhance the live show.
The Impact
Ørsted were blown away by the end product, which really showcased their sustainability credentials, and Flux was able to champion a collaboration that will improve the lives of young people in Grimsby for years to come. We love it when a plan comes together!
