TikTok needed a cutting-edge production solution for their annual Global & European Awards, one that would seamlessly blend innovation, engagement, and high-quality broadcast standards. The challenge was to create a scalable, high-end production that could capture the dynamic energy of TikTok while ensuring technical excellence across multiple regions…oh and did we mention it was going to be a world first using a four point spider camera at the Round House in London!
For this project we collaborated directly with TikTok and Seen Present, developing both the creative and technical execution. One of our first tasks was to develop the Run of Show which would act as the blueprint for the rest of the event, impacting talent and external activations as well as the live show.
One thing we’re particularly proud of is being the first production company to deploy a 4-point wire cam at the Roundhouse, pushing the boundaries of the events coverage to new levels.
On site our setup included an array of advanced camera solutions: Agito, PTZ cameras, and RF camera operators, all feeding into a robust multi-camera workflow. Pulling these feeds together on site were three OB trucks delivering a 4K video solution to the platform whilst also ensuring a seamless broadcast quality.
Aside from vision mixing, graphics and VT play out in the trucks, we also utilised an EVS system to add delay in to the stream helping with any profanity that might pop up on the night.
A key feature of the broadcast was a live battle on stage using a custom built integration solution that Flux and TikTok produced in tandem, this allowed to two international stars the chance to battle it out in front of millions of fans.
This was TikToks’s largest award show to date, with both the EU and Global shows being a huge success on the platform. The stability and security that our solution delivered allowed both Seen and TikTok the opportunity to take a step back from the tech and focus on the event delivery, creating a seamless partnership across the entire production.
This groundbreaking approach set a new benchmark for live event production, demonstrating how TikTok’s brand could thrive in a premium, high-stakes broadcast environment.
